Books & Bears is a Gold Award recipient in the
2010 AVA International Competition.

Marie Phillis, RSVP Director; Gary Collins, Independent Video Producer and Jan Meredith, First Book Chair.

Bend, OR (1/18/10) … As host for the Deschutes County RSVP program, Central Oregon Council On Aging is proud to announce that the "RSVP Books and Bears Story" video is a Gold Award recipient in the International AVA (Audio/Visual Awards) International 2010 Competition in the Pro Bono category. In addition the video received an Honorable Mention in the Documentary category. There were approximately 1,700 entries from throughout the United States and several foreign countries in the AVA Awards 2010 competition. 

Gary Collins, RSVP videographer has donated many volunteer hours in following the Books & Bears project for the first two years and producing the Books & Bears Story on DVD.

Central Oregon Council on Aging (COCOA) is a 501c3 organization dedicated to promoting dignity, well-being, security and independence for Central Oregon Seniors and the designated AAA. RSVP is a partner agency of COCOA
